of Replenishment Technology Group, Inc. (RTG),
Raymond S. Louis, has authored numerous articles and
two books on kanban.
His methodologies on providing lean system
solutions have been widely adopted
internationally.
Mr. Louis has an MBA and is certified CPIM by
the American Production and Inventory Control
Society and Certified C.P.M. by the Institute of
Supply Management.

Replenishment
Technology Group, Inc., initially named Louis &
Associates, LLC., was founded when MRPII was still
the principle manufacturing package and Just-In-Time
was a new concept in America.
In 1989, Raymond Louis implemented
Just-In-Time manufacturing techniques for the
world’s largest manufacturer of lasers after
experiencing significant competitive issues.
Although the lead-time to build the product
went from six weeks to under four days, serious
supplier shortages were still prevalent.
Neither MRP nor the manual Kanban System
could react fast enough to the projected shifts in
demand. Mr.
Louis created the first fully automated Kanban
system through the integration of Kanban with MRPII.
The solution encompassed bar code travelers
printed at each work cell and simplistic electronic
telecommunication connectivity to the supply base.
