KANBAN ASSESSMENT

Our approach to performing kanban assessments have been brought about by years of experience in a multitude of environments.  Our assessments are 100% mathematically backed and leads to team consensus on direction.  It embraces a two part approach:

Part One: Off-Site Assessment (Typically 1 to 3 days)
a) RTG acquires an ASCII flat file of the client's data of historical or projected demand by part number along with other key fields of information such as lead time. This file is then applied to our patented kanban assessment software which calculates kanban lot sizes taking non linear demand patterns into consideration and then emulates kanban operating at the client site on a day to day basis against the demand. This assessment clearly reflects the kanban candidates, inventory reduction that can be expected, optimal kanban container option that should be employed, and other kanban system design considerations.

b) RTG sends a tailored questionnaire to the client based upon an initial conversation seeking specific operational data to be made available prior to the on-site assessment.

Part Two: On-Site Assessment (Typically 1 to 2 days)
RTG will assess the environmental factors on-site and present findings and recommendations that are mathematically backed, supported by operational data, and gain team consensus on direction.

KANBAN SYSTEM DESIGN

RTG will develop an implementation milestone chart and perform a cost/benefit analysis and gain team consensus. Once approval is secured RTG will develop a custom kanban system design tailored to fit the needs of the client. The client team members participate in the design process and sign off on each element of the design in regards to their agreement.

KANBAN IMPLEMENTATION

The implementation milestone chart is followed as constructed and updated on a regular basis. Each step of the process is measured and reported to ensure that all is being implemented as planned.

TROUBLESHOOTING EXISTING PACKAGES

RTG troubleshoots existing replenishment system issues. Our clients range in size from $12MM to $10 Billion in sales. We have the diagnostic tools, in-depth hands-on experience, and are highly versed in all replenishment methodologies.
